Homework, Assessments, and Projects
Students are responsible for monitoring personal iPass accounts throughout each trimester. Please contact me if there is a discrepancy or if a grade has been entered incorrectly; often, I am entering hundreds of grades each week and errors occasionally occur.
Homework is checked for completion and effort, not necessarily accuracy, although students should always aim for accuracy. Homework counts for approximately 10% of your final grade. L & L homework does not show up in a separate category as it does in other classes, but rather is factored into the appropriate L & L category (reading, writing, S & L, language). It is an expectation for all students that homework is completed each night in preparation for the next day. Not completing homework is considered being unprepared for class and will result in an after school detention that day.
If a student does not complete a project or class work, he/she will earn a score of zero (0). I will inform parents about incomplete assignments via email or the iPass “Notes for Students” function. Students have one cycle from the day the assignment was due to complete the assignment and still receive a grade. Grades may be reduced for work handed in late. Retakes are given at the discretion of the teacher with time limits and practices to be set by the teacher.
Please plan to stay after school to make-up assessments; students must see me to schedule this time.
